Tim is an American screenwriter, author and filmmaker based in Cornwall, England.
Drawn to hyper-realistic, character-driven stories, his work often explores themes of overcoming loss, finding one’s place in the world, the dynamics of family and relationships, and confronting the past.
He was born and raised in the Bay Area of California, and earned a degree in journalism from San Francisco State University. Later, after working as a reporter for a spell, he moved to the UK where he earned a master’s degree in film from the University of Bristol.
In 2022, he wrote and directed his debut feature Nowhere. The film played at festivals internationally and garnered critical praise, with Film Threat Magazine declaring it, “an outstanding drama”.
From there, Tim wrote his second feature screenplay Pieces of Us, which was a finalist at The Cambridge Script Festival. The film was subsequently produced in 2024, and is currently on its festival run. The UK Film Review rated it “Four Stars”, calling it “a heartfelt drama that explores the complexities of relationships, featuring strong performances and an effective script.”
Next, Tim was commissioned to write the screenplay for the feature film Being Frank, a drama about neurodiversity. The film is in pre-production and slated to film in the autumn of 2026.
Recently, Tim was tapped to write the pilot for an animated TV series based on the popular Mew character IP. The show is in development.
His latest work, a feature-length screenplay entitled Dragonflies was greenlit and is scheduled to begin shooting in the summer of 2026.
Aside from screenwriting, Tim is an author of short fiction. His work has been featured in various literary magazines and journals.
He is also an actor and the co-founder of Cornwall-based production company Kernowfornia Film Company
